Rebuild Info

I'm importing an FD from japan in the spring and am trying to locate a good shop in BC or Alberta. I've never owned a rotary before and want it fully inspected before its drivin. I also want to reinforce its cooling while its in the shop.

Can anyone recommend someone? Its quite possible the engine will need a rebuild so they must be reputable in rebuilds.

I think GP may be a bad place for a 3rd gen. You're likely looking at trips to edmonton or calgary for major services like an engine rebuild. I don't know who does them in Edmonton though.

I'd go post on the rx-7 club section of 780tuners, that's an edmonton based import website that hosts the edmonton rx-7 club forums.

GP isn't where the car will be driven for the most part (besides a local has a ferrari he drives around here all the time) it'll be in kelowna, bc where i spend my summers.

I'm a fair mechanic myself, just never worked on a rotary so i dont plan on trying to rebuild it myself. i just need a shop for the rebuild to make it reliable to drive on highway trips. Small maitanence i can do myself.

Getting the car to a shop before its driven isn't a problem, i just dont wanna ship it to ontario for work. hence the BC or Alberta part of my first post.
