It's not going to fit unless you get creative. :p I saw a pic where they had it hanging out the back with cords holding it in. heh

How far away is it? You could just go there and swap hoods, or if its really close drive there with no hood (probably not the greatest idea)

its only 4 bolts and is really light, just leave your stock hood at home and put theirs on.

I fit a hood in the hatch of my mustang. Never tried it in the 7, though. It seems like it would fit diagonally, but you probably wouldn't be able to close the hatch. And you might screw up some interior parts if you arent careful. Just take off your current hood and see if it will fit.

i'd say the easiest way would be to borrow a friend's truck... or get him to drive you there. Secondly, you could drive there with no hood... install... drive home. If its not too far I dont really see why it would hurt anything, unless it's raining.
I wouldnt want to hang anything out of the side of my 7 without the hatch being able to close, whatever's hanging out would be resting right on the paint.

If your old hood is junk, drive there with the old one in place. Then put the new one on when you get it. And finally, cut up the old one and secure it in the rear.

i'd drive with no hood to pick it up, then install the T2 hood upon arrival. After I replaced the clutch in my old TII (missed memory) I drove it home from where I was working on it without the hood on it and nothing went wrong, but a lot of people were looking at me, I drove on the highway too.

why wouldn't it? there's no problem driving with no hood. I've done it for days at a time. Even if it rains, the hot engine will cause it to evaporate pretty quickly, and there's nothing really very sensitive to water in these engine bays.

I said it might not be the best idea, because idk what cops would do if you had no hood on?

i dont know how bad the cops in your area are, but they're typically pretty pissy around here, and i drove around with no hood or front bumper for about two weeks, passed several, and never got stopped.

BOV sounds much louder with no hood for some reason.....

When I did my motor swap, I drove it for a week without any hood...got nothing but stares. Though, that could have been 'cause of the sound coming out of the back! If it's only 30 minutes away, I would say absolutely go for it!

you're going to need a friend to help you if you want to align the hood correctly and avoid scrathing the paint on install.

when I did my motor swap, I drove with no hood as well.

there's no problem, perhaps a reduction in the efficiency of the topmount.. oh no not 2 or 3 horsepower!

but that's about it....

In fact, now that I think about it, i've driven at least 500 miles with no hood, all with no adverse effects.

I installed my hood by myself with no problems. It helps to take whiteout and mark around where the bolts go so you can align it easier when you put it back on.
And also, you can fit an amazing amount of stuff in the hatch. I fit a dresser, minifridge, lamp, stereo, and 2 laundry baskets full of random crap in mine when I moved my wife (girlfriend at the time) in to my house.
