making plug and play cable

Ok i have finished my ms system and i want to make a plug and play cable for it now. Right now i have a 87 TII, i don't want to butcher up the current ecu in it can i use any ecu from 87 - 88 meaning n/a or turbo or do i have to stick to a turbo ecu to have the right harness?
Also would it matter if the ecu is for a manual or auto?
Thanks
Dustin

as long as the plugs fit, you can use it.

If you're making a cable, I would recommend using DIYautotune's premade db37 cable. Real real nice quality. Well worth the $50 IMO. You might have to change the IGN wires around, but that is no big deal..
