Anyone autox on BF Goodrich KDW 2?
Anyone autox on BF Goodrich KDW 2?
I have a set on my car now for the street that I'd like to try using in the next autox season. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with these, pros, cons, tips?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I know of a person or two who uses these, but not on an RX-7. Pressures will depend on your suspension setup. If you haven't autocrossed before, look for a veteran who's adjusting their tire pressure, and ask them for help. My FD has mostly stock suspension, and I use Avon tires which are similar to yours ( comparison here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/..._wide_oval.jsp )
Personally, I think my Avons feel better with high pressures, ~50 psi up front and ~45 in the rear. This keeps the tire temps pretty uniform also. Your driving style, suspension setup, pavement/concrete, and tires will vary, so it's best to test this out for yourself.
[edit: the best tip I can give you is to measure tire temperatures (inside, middle, and outside of the tire), and try adjusting your pressure, alignment and suspension so that your temps are even. 10 degrees (fahrenheit) or less is a good spread to shoot for. ]
