Same as a new motor. Just make sure you follow the builders break in procedure.

How much boost you can (safely) run depends on your mods. Read the stickies at the top of the section for some good info.

High boost can't physically break an engine or its seals, if it's tuned and running properly. The kind of turbo doesn't matter. However, it will lose compression a little faster and the o-rings will break down sooner.

So if you want to run 25psi it will work if you can feed it enough race fuel and live with a rebuild more often.

It also depends on which apex seals you are using. 2 pcs or the 3 pcs.

I don't think that's a black/white true statement. In any case, 3mm seals are not going to be found in a "reman".

Then your question is really a T-78 efficiency and tuning question. It doesn't have much to do with the reman engine.

You CAN do anything you wish. You CAN slap a T-78 kit on and go run around on 87 octane in the 500 rwhp area. You most likely will not be happy with the results.

With this statment you just made ^^^ zI'm guessing you really don't have the ability to use the Greddy T-78 kit, or any other full turbo upgrade. I'm also guessing that you are looking for just general info on turbos and rotorys.

This is one very important rule :13b's can generate power numbers at the wheel in the upper 400's in stock form on pump gas. Going over the 500 mark requires making the motor more rigid, to prevent the rotors from contacting the rotor hoiusings. You do not need porting to acheive thoose numbers, although using stock ports is kind of like pissing into the wind and trying to not get wet. Oil modifications should also be employeed on all application fromt he high 400's and on.

The boost pressure is less important than the HP number desired. If you want 550 rwhp out of that reman that you have, a T-78 will get you there just make plans to get another reman soon.

mike, 18 psi is not unresonable on pump gas, but you must have good/conservative tuning. My car was tuned to about 18 psi on pump gas by steve kan. I then put a full tank of C16 in the car and personally tuned it up to where it fluctuates between 22-25 psi. Pulls like a mother. I made sure my timing was around 15 degrees, and 12 degrees split. I also kept my AFRs to around 10.9 - 11.0. I would be more then happy to help you out on the tuning, after this winter, as soon as the weather breaks. My car has held up really well this summer and my vacuum is staying rock solid (knock on wood). I have more beating/miles on this motor at over 20 psi then i did on my last 2 motors at around 15 psi. So it really is all in the tuning.

Another suggestion is getting water injection, which i also have, which isnt currently working right now, lol. I know a lot of people who are running over 20 psi with pump gas and water injection.

18psi is outta my league, sorry I can't contribute on that. But it's different question than 25psi or 14psi.
