Is there anything to do in that area? Ill be going to the Gwen Stefani concert in October with a friend. I might have to kill some time in that area before the concert actually begins. Is *** arena in a bad area of town? Any info would be great.

 

The *** arena area is not bad at all.

 

*** is on the SDSU campus. It's not the best area of town, but not the worst either. If I were you, I'd take the 8 freeway a couple miles to the west to mission valley/fashion valley. There are 2 pretty nice malls there and a lot of other things to do. Also, even closer (maybe 1 mile to the west on 8) is Qualcomm Stadium. There have a lot of events there on the weekend, including races in the parking lot. A bit further west, is old town. They have nice restaurants and some San Diego historical stuff to check out. Go west more and you hit 5, take it north and you'll be along the bay. If you want more details let me know.

yea... Im going to be driving down from LA so Im sure Ill be hungry. My friend Ill be going with is coming here from Miami and I would like to show him around. So eating at a chain restraunt wouldnt be something that I would lile to do if theres something more exciting to do in that area.

On a side note... what kind of seats did you get??? Im in section Q row 30.

 

hrmm... you guys could check out downtown and the gaslamp. just park at the mall off broadway and buy some mints at the longs drugstore inside for validation. that will give you 3 hours to check out the gaslamp area.
you could also go to Little Italy, which is right south of the airport, they have some cute places to hang out.
oldtown right of the 8 is all mexican food and shops.
you could stop in delmar or solana beach and head towards the beach, theres some nice little sight seeing and places to go along the 1 over there too.
