Cool More than one tranny fill plug?

Cause I pulled mine and it starts flowing out as if I pulled out the oil drain plug. Granted the car was jacked up on its side but then shouldnt the level be a little lower anyway?? Im just confused how the tranny could have been overfilled that much unless the car was put on its side or something.

Just to make sure... the fill plug is the one circled in yellow in the attached pic right? Looks like it to me in the FSM and I didnt see anything else under there.

update: N/A 88 GXL

Yes, that is the fill plug. I think turbo transmissions have more than one fill plug though. Your car should be level when checking or changing the oil in the transmission.

If the tranny was HOT when you did it.. you will get oil running out the hole even if its level.. it does expand a bit..

My guess is that the last guy to fill it, filled it with the car way jacked on its side. not you opened it either with the tranny warm or in warmer weather, and at a bit less of an angle and out it came!

BUT.. it needs to be level when you fill it....
