track tires

Which tires would you all recommend for autocross/track days, I wouldn't be using these tire for everyday use and would switch them and probably drive to the autocross with them on so they need to be DOT approved. I'm lookin at these...Toyo Proxes RA1, Avon Tech R, kumho V710, not sure which to get, the toyo's are cheapest at about 145 per tire mounted and balanced and the kumho's and tech R's are around 150 from tirerack not including mouting and balancing. the size would be 205/50/15.

How far do you drive to the track? The V710s are probably the fastest of the 3, but will go away sooner. If you would swap tires at the track I'd say the V710s. If you can stand to be a little slower, but have the tires last through more heat cycles I'd say Toyo. I don't know enough about the Avon's. Maybe The Tire Rack can help determine where the Avon's stand in relation to the V710s and the RA1s.

That's still a heat cycle. I'd swap tires at the track or run the Toyo.

Forgot to add something. If the guy hasn't sold them I'll be getting some used 225/50R16 Kumho V710s to put on my $50 Supra 16x7" wheels to use for autocross. I have too many wheels already, but I don't wear out snow tires in any season other than winter or track tires on anything but the track.
