How big is the rubber on your FD?

And how big can you go on the fronts without getting clearance problems with aftermarket tire and wheel combos?

Keep in mind that clearing the fender and clearing the fender lining are two totally diff ballgames. I run a 18 X 8.5 on a 245/35 in the front, and I have no prob clearing the fender w/ room to spare. The fender lining, however, is being eaten through on turns...

With the proper suspension setup and wheel selection, you can run a 285/30 18 up front.

What? Crispy? Where? If you see him running 285s all round in real life...dear God. It's MASSIVE.

For most folks, 255 on a 9" wide rim up front w/o coilovers (stock suspension or aftermarket springs/shocks) and other work. *Wheels will need a +45 or higher offset.

That is what, about a 24" high tire with a section width of maybe 9.7"? I wonder if the 1/4" difference between a 35 series and a 45 would have eliminated the rubbing. It wouldn't quite have the look of course I don't suppose you have a pic you can share?

Who knows, but yea...gotta have the look

Here's a pic. 100% stock R2 suspension (every single component...for now), 245/35/18s w/ a +37 offset on 8.5s in the front, and 285/30/18s w/ a +41 offset on 10s in the rear. Don't jump on me for the offsets!! The FD simply is NOT a popular car, so finding nice rims in the correct size is very hard. On that note, I have absolutely no clearance/rubbing issues whatsoever, minus rubbing of the tire w/ fender lining in FRONT of the driver side front tire. The passenger side tire is fine... (which leads me to believe maybe the fender lining got damaged and started rubbing...) In fact, the rear needs a drop...but I'm changing the whole suspension anyways soon enough...

EDIT: Hmmm...I REALLY gotta get those rims polished (the whole thing). I like shiny
