Okay, I recetnly lost my job, which means I can no longer do all the body work on my RX-2 at the shop. I'm gonna have to get soemone else to finish it, and there's a LOT to do. At least there's no rust. I'm looking to drop the engine, tranny, and gas tank and roll the shell into a shop, get it painted, and roll it back home (on a trailer, of course) to rebuild things. I've attached a few pics, but I'm looking to get the body, engine bay, and door sills worked and painted. I don't mind paying good money for the paint, but I'd like to get an idea of what I'm getting into - any ideas?
Mabye i dont get it so you worked at a (body) shop so you cant do all the work their is this right ... if you worked in a shop i think that you would have picked up how much going labor rate was????

I worked at a machine shop with 6 bays. I was able to pull the car in on weekends and have at it with another guy that did body work as a hobby. He'd work on his Ghia and I'd work on the 2 on Saturdays and Sundays, but neither of us really knew what it would cost to have the work done. Basically, I was taking my time and doing it myself, time permitting, but can't anymore.

id try to find someone who does it on the side, or course someone who has alot of good referances. i found the guy that did my 280z thru some other people who had work done by him, it was rust free but had a few rough spots, ended up at 2500 for quality prep and a good mettalic paint job with a good clear, all jambs were painted, engine bay, under hood, and under trunk lid. granted it took him 7 weeks, but id have spent at least a grand more at a shop.
