I am puting a TII Tranny, driveshaft, and rear end in my race car. (second gen body. ) the engine is an N/A so the NA flywheel will be used.

I am pretty sure that i will need a Turbo II clutch disk, and a N/A pressure plate. does anyone know differant then this? or does anyone know for a fact that this is true?

 

You will need the TII flywheel, TII pressure plate, TII clutch disc, TII starter, and TII clutch slave cylinder to make this work. Also, since you didn't mention it, you will also need the TII axles that go from the diff to the hubs.

It cannot be done with NA parts. TII stuff is 240mm while the NA stuff is 225mm.

The NA starter has the solenoid on the wrong side (it hits the tranny housing), as well as the fact that although you can get a clutch disk with the splining to fit the TII trans, the starter will not mesh with the ring gear on the flywheel, forcing you to use the TII flywheel. I am using a Racing Beat steel flywheel, which I find to be a great setup (comes with the counterweight so I can go lighter if I want). Also, you can get away with the NA slave cylinder for about 3k miles, but after that you run the risk of having the throwout bearing brushing the clutch and wearing out (don't ask how I know, being that I just swapped the trans in November 2004).
