Question about cooling with FMIC and radiator.

Hey everyone,

I recently installed a Greddy FMIC on my single turbo FD, and was wondering about summer time heat, albeit it is ~6 months away. I have a Fluidyne radiator, but reading some recent posts about overheating and just seeing the physical placement of the FMIC, the FMIC will hinder the performance of the radiator. That being said, is there an easy way to help cooling. Perhaps, I can duct air or add more fans? What do you guys suggest?

Thanks!!!

The car isn't going to overheat unless you are in a track racing situation going WOT for long periods at a time. Quick blasts at stoplight confrontations & regular all around driving is ok with a FMIC, especially since you already have the Fluidyne. As long as you're not doing extended WOT it's ok. I have a GReddy FMIC, & MazdaComp radiator & have never overheated due to air blockage. As a matter of fact, when my temps. do go up, it's when I'm in traffic, which has nothing to do with the FMIC, so I do recommend the fan mod which allows me to turn the fans on without turning the a/c on, and I also have a water temp gauge to more closely monitor temps. BTW, note that I am in the tropics on the island of Jamaica, where it's 80-90 year round.

thanks for responding... I will do that fan modification for sure. I am glad to have some reassurance as well. I am on the midatlantic region and it doesnt stay too hot here all the time.
