I'm going single and am looking to use the Power FC. People have been telling me that there are different versions. Which one is the latest version and is there a way I can tell by looking at the unit? (Incase I buy a used one)

There are two versions. The 2.xx and the 5.xx for our 93-95 cars. If you are buying the PFC, make sure the commander you are getting is compatible with the version you have. The commanders are not interchangable between 2.xx and 5.xx.

Dont even bother with the commander ... just use the datalogit. I dont think you will be doing your own tuning and my friends got the datalogit for his power fc in berlin so you could use it when your ready to have it tuned.
