What would you expect to pay for a Power FC and commander not from aretail store?
maybe second hand or new
Also do you need the commander all the time or could you borrow one tune the car up and never need it again?

A used power FC and commander typically go for about $900-1000. Or typically 700 or so for one without the commander
THe commander is extremely nice to have. You can monitor duty cycles, boost, throttle, ignition timing, etc etc.. very nice to have

Ok thanks guys,
also I have a 1997 rx7 and I have got to toss up between the Apexi 414-Z001 or the 414-Z005 they both work on the 1997 but does any body know the major diferences betwwen them?
I know the 414-Z001 is an older model, thats about all
