what are better the jl audio w3's or the kicker comp Vr's i cant decide which to go with ..also the size would be 12's and a 1000 watt amp

I would tend to lean towards the 1201 from www.blueprintdrivers.com . Similar (in most cases better) specs than either the kicker or JL and about half the cost.

 

If price isn't as important to you as saving space, JL subwoofers (even the W3's) require usually about half as much cubic air volume than other subwoofers of the same size. My experience with JL's has given me nothing but serious enjoyment, along with an incredible amount of low end response.

 

Jls do require small boxes, but they aren't noticeably smaller than their competition.
