give me ur opinions and advice about my system!

im about to purchase a killer system... wanna know wat u guys think and i got a couple questions.

OK heres wat i got so far:

1x Clarion Deck Part Number: dxz745mp
1x FOCAL POLYGLASS 6+" COMP. Set Part Number: FOC-165V2
2x JL AUDIO 12" subs Part Number: 12W6v2-D4
1x Ported Box
1x Compustar LCD alarm/remote start Part NUmber: 2WSS-as
1x JL audio amp 500/1

Ok first question I have is...
The 500/1 will be used to run just the subs. I need another amp for the FOCAL's but I dont know which amp I should get. Any ideas/suggestions?

Is a ported box recommended for the JL's and if so wat kind of box?

Will the focal 6+'s fit in my s5 doors?

thanks

matt

You don't need two 12"s in an RX-7. Use a sealed box, they can be smaller and will have tighter, deeper bass.

You could use a JL Audio 300/2 for the fronts. Should be more than enough power in a small car.

I like the kick in the nuts from a 120 post'er to a 6800 post'er obviously rynberg doesn't know what you need, but he sure knows that car, and knows what's overkill... and if you need overkill then fine... but to ask an oppinion and then shoot the post'er down.... 'll get you far in this board

BTW have Infinity 5.1 4.5" Ready to install and 5 3/4 " Infinity's for the rears, powered by an infinity 450 watt amp... overkill in my mind, but I got a good deal, and wanted to get something "Nice", and yet the fact that I don't have ear drum shattering base in my car will baffle a lot of people.... but that's my preference...

i have different intentions than most ppl i jsut dont like ppl telling me wat i need. Drop a "IMO" in front of that sentence and it makes me feel better. Everyones after different things... mostly mine is going to be used for bumpin in parking lots. And yes I have a better alt and a optima yellow top if thats whats coming next from u guys. D2 crosby wat does the number of posts have to do with anything. Im sorry im not one of those guys who replies to every single topic with a little nerd response. sorry i dont sit in front of my computer posting messages on a forum all day. I come here when i need to and thats about it, i dont get off on the number of posts i have or other ppl have.

BTW i fully understand what ryn's saying. Im just making a point that different ppl want different things. And thanks, sealed box helps me out a bit ryn.

lmao what do u think rynberg is a mind reader? You posted asking for opinions and he told you what he thought. IMO wtf are you putting a big system in a rx7 for? So you can sit there in a parking lot going bump bump rattling your car apart looking 'cool'? Please get a civic and spare your rx7. again thats just IMO

Mitch

Sealed boxs are generally more for sound quality than anything else. For the deep booming bass, ported is better. Personally I suggest if you have anything made professionally, make it your box. The speaker box is more important than the amp and speaker combined and a bad one can make a great system sound horrible. According to their online spec sheet, JL's fall right in the middle of whether they can be used in ported or sealed enclosures. They actually lean a little to the side of the ported enclosure.

You could do better on the head unit. That's a fact.

hmmm, if you are thinking of a big spl system, that amp isnt gonna cut it im afraid. id suggest going a bigger amp, the sub(s) can more then handle it and you wouldnt be doing them justice with an amp that small.

also, i have a feeling that you may have trouble mounting those focals in the doors, unless they are the slimline ones? (which the polyglass arent?)

as for an amp for your front stage it really depends on how much you want to spend, as it seems like you are going spl over sq, it doesnt really matter, just buy something from a respectable brand
