fmic & koyo radiator and ac

fmic & koyo radiator and ac

Its warming up here in AL and Im thinking of putting ac back in my car. The thing is, Im scared of overheating sense a engine runs hotter with ac running(why?). Have any you ever fried a motor becuase you ran your ac too long in traffic?

It runs hotter because the heat exchanger for the AC is sitting in front of the radiator, so the radiator is ingesting hot air, which reduces its capability to shed heat since the temp difference between the radiator and the air is reduced. I had an idea to get the a/c heat exchangers (also known as condensers) from a newer porsche 911 and put them in the area in front of the fender wells...
