rear view mirrors, they do come off right?

I am having a bear of a time getting my outside mirrors off. I can barely reach the inside and feels like there a two nuts holding them on from the inside... is this right? I can't get these things to turn for the life of me, can hardly get a wrench or socket to them, let alone on them. Are these things normally a pain, or am I doing something wrong? Figured I'd ask you guys before I destroy something...

I'll assume your talking about power mirrors (manual mirrors are insanly obvious) Anyway, crouch down and look under the mirror itself, there are a couple phillips scres taht hold the mirror to the little pedastal thing, remove those and then you can get at the 2 phillips that hold the pedastal to the door from outside the car. Very easy to do, if that explination didn't do it, I can try to get a pic or two. good luck
