I Just bought some mastercraft avengers from the internet. They were the same size as my old yokohamas. The problem is even though very light, they are touching the springs in the front.
The size tire in the front is 225/45-17".

Is there anyone using this type tire, or size, and if so, if you had this problem. what did you do to fix it?

 

just use wheeel spacers.

 

The ones that came on with the car are still on there.

 

I think they are three eighths.

Is it rubbing on the spring itself or "support arm"? If spring, looks like you'll need a thicker spacer. If upper arm, grind a little away.

 

What are the specs on the wheels you are running???

i'd say get some 5mm spacer
shouldnt give u that much handling difference

 

I got the mastercraft avenger zhp's.

they have the same exact specs as my last tires. It's just the damn reenforced sidewalls for the W speed rating.

Guess I'll have to get a new set of spacers. The best value I saw was a set of billet alluminums for 100 with the studs.

 

What size/offset wheels are you using? And as asked before, are you sure they are rubbing the spring, or just the perch of the strut? If its just the perch, you can shave a little away to make extra room.
