I can't tell what you're pointing at. The bolt? Anyway, good luck.

offtopic: I looked at your cardomain site. Where did you get the cat replacement pipe?

I thought maybe it was behind the bolt. Can you get a better pic? I'm not familiar with the 79 carb, but it's not much different from the one on my 83. I don't think. You got a haynes manual? Based on the pic on page 99, it looks like you should be able to cap both ends for now with out a problem. It's just part of the emissions system piping.

That testpipe.com web site doesn't work for me.

when I ran the stock setup, I just blocked everything off, but I think it may be the PCV valve.

I had one break on my SA i used to have. You can use some rubber cement and glue it back together again. It'll unbolt from the carb.

Greg, you shoulda removed the bolt. But yes indeed its the PCV hiding behind it. Glue it back on, or block it and use the crank vent system in the emissions tutorial.

Hehe, my pipe is famous.

Yea testpipe.com is out of business. Look on ebay, theres some joint selling test pipes for various cars.

I'm looking through my Haynes manual and don't see a PCV anywhere. Just for my education, is it called something else?

You shoulda seen his face last night when he broke it!!! It looked exactly like (he was using my car as an example for doing the tubing for his) it was like 20 degrees outside when we were working on it. Every rubber tube was hard. (yes, they were new)

So, long story short, he should just be able to put some epoxy or something in there to plug the PCV and then put a cap over the other hose?

For those that don't know, we were following the emissions removal tutorial that Rx7Carl and Pratch wrote and posted on the Mazspeed site.

Oh, and he did remove that bolt...

Picture taking was not exactly on any of our minds... it was so damned cold, we just wanted to get the thing put together!! I didn't even stick around too long. Got the electrical stuff and the hoses connected and I hopped back in my nice warm car and went home!!

Ok, I must need reading glasses. I'll peruse the manual again and look for the PCV valve in there.
