t78 with stock port motor?

t78 with stock port motor?

why do i get half the people telling me that the greddy t78 is too big for stock ported motor and half telling me it will be fine. Are there any people out there with this setup? what suggestions do you have for me?

No I think he “vosko” has the Judge Ito squared off ports if I remember correctly.
From what I know about talking to Rob at Pineapple is technically anything will work even for the biggest turbos, but why!
Why spend that much on a turbo just to make it choke as it spools.

some people like to call the T78 the "lag master" already why make it worse

stock ports will work but figure 400rwhp @ 15psi on stock ports compared to 450-470 @ 15psi on a ported motor

FD ports are pretty big so its not horrible stock

my T78 is famous.... thats hilarious

fastcarfreak, How many miles does your motor have on it? if its the original motor then dont, unless you have less than 30-40k miles. You could try it though.

I only hope my T78 lives up to those numbers with a street port. I am guessing mine will not be above 450 at 15 lbs, but we'll see.

my motor has about 5000 miles on it, im hoping i get another 10k with the t78 before it blows, by then i will be able to afford a nice race port and just about everything else, I dont think getting 10k miles will be too big of a problem because its getting tuned by dave at kdr, and im gonna have skips anti det. device on it. If i can get more then 10k i will be happier then ****. 400 rwhp is what im hoping for at 15 psi, if it takes a lil more to get 400 then i will bump the boost 1 or 2 psi. I also plan to have a setting for race gas that i would only use when im about to race for a lot of money, the money ive made in the last month and a half, just from racing has covered about a forth of the cost of the whole turbo conversion, next year i should have no problem makeing a couple grand off of a few races. So many older guys around here with lots of money that are willing to bet against the "rice burner". after spending the season beating up on old muscle cars with small blocks and a couple of poorly tuned big blocks. my favorite quote last week from one of the older guys was "you better stick to the four cylinders next year, and stay away from the V8s if you want to keep your money" The only thing i could do was laugh about the whole thing, these guys have no clue the potential of a rotary engine. They have no clue about this conversion, so i keep it hush hush around them. they think my car only runs a 13.35 because thats what i ran at the track a couple of months ago. The whole point of this conversion besides self satisfaction is to shut them old muscle car **** up and take all there money.

A guy in town had a T-78 with stock porting and it made 408 rwhp. Mine made 418 w/some porting. I'm going to get it retuned now that it's cooler, hoping for around 450 rwhp. When you get above 400 hp I'm no sure how much difference you can tell, I just hold on.

It going to be very sad when the realiable 13b takes a pooper on you after you bet all this money. Get the motor and turbo right before you do any of that. If your motor has alot of miles on it then it wont hold together with a t-78. Most of the people with single turbo conversions, motors dont last but around 15k miles. i havent had one to last 10k yet, Ive gone through 3 so far. Im not telling you what to do but just take that in consideration. Good luck.
