more power/illumination from 99 spec combo lites?

hey i was hopin someone would have some good ideas (or even better, some experience w/ this)

im bout to put the 99 spec combo lites in my new front bumper, and i was tryin 2 c if i could make 'em more powerful...more brite (at least the inward blue lite...) vs. adding a set of fogs to the car.

if it was possible, i was gonna attempt to wire the outer orange lites as dim lights/turning signals..not sure yet, and the inward blue lites as fogs. ive heard that due to size and space constraints, u cant really make these lites HID...or get any serious illumination power outta 'em 4 that matter

any ideas? is it doable? is it worth the trouble? or am i better off just goin w/ addin fogs (which im tryin 2 avoid doin...)

thanx

Try xenon bulbs with a higher wattage rating. You just have to figure out what size those lights use. If they are h3 or typical fog light sized bulbs you may be in luck, if they only use little wedge type bulbs then you are SOL.

Ya, Does anyone know a way to put a bigger bulb in there? Can they take it? I just changed my bulbs, and they take a dinky little wedge bulb. I just think it would be nice to have a nice bright white light come out of them.

Wow...talk about back from the dead I think shortly after, I had a convo w/ someone that told me the housings aren't meant for more power, and so they're liable to melt on ya if you try to do so. I personally just went and got some $18 PIAA HID wedge bulbs. Unfortunately, I do not have the box w/ me anymore so I couldn't tell you the bulb #, but they're slightly larger than the ones already in there, and shine real bright. You can't drive w/ 'em or anything lol but they look to be a lot brighter than the ones in your pic (unless the background light is dulling it).

The only other option is to get the FEED 99spec lights, which are in fact HID, but they look pretty nasty if you ask me
