not sure if either actually make the car stop faster.. slotted rotors help clean the rotors as you drive; cross drilled keep them cooler..

which ever one you decided to go with, donot get powerslots... i ordered a set for my gsl-se three months ago. just recieved them in the middle of last week. and they definatly donot look like they are worth the wait..

Heat causes brake fade and pad wear. Overheating the rotors can cause warping and cracking which isn't good. Crossdrilled rotors will aid in cooling the rotors and extend the life of the components. You will be better off with slotted rotors unless you are doing some serious braking. I'm using stock GSL calipers and rotors with my turbo 7 and I'm not really having problems stopping .If you constantly are involved in stop and go traffic you might want to upgrade. Don't forget to upgrade the pads too for the full effect.

The crossdrilled rotors are generally more apt to crack around the holes than slotted rotors.

Cracks are when the rotor starts to wear thin after many sets of brake pads.

My close friend bought his supra with x-drilled brakes and he drives like a mad man, it's been 3 years and they are still perfect.

Is there a Brembo or other quality maker of brake rotors?

The only other one I know is KVR Rotors.

hey Roy, where did you fin those??

And FYI, if you want the car to actually stop faster, then you need to look at teh pads, not really the rotors.. The rotors will keep cool, but not really stop faster.

Check out some of the Hawk pads. I run HP+ on my -SE..

I originally bought PowerSlots for my Dodge Dakota. They used Brembo blanks for mine, I don't know if that is across their line though. When I tried to find Brembo rotors for the GSL-SE, it isn't listed.

Also, two other comments, 1) delay may have a lot more to do with where you buy them, and how rare the component is. I don't see many of the standard brake companies offering Gen I rotors (not Raybestos, not Stillen, not Brembo), so they might basically be special order - expect to wait.

2) My understanding is that both slotted and cross-drilled rotors are supposed to dissipate heat faster and allow gas build-up between the pad and rotor to escape.

The reason I went to Powerslots (and then Raybestos PowerStops [x-drilled and slotted]) was to deal with the rotor warping common to late model Daimler-Chrysler vehicles.

Just be sure to torque your lug nuts correctly...that is how I ruined the Brembo blank PowerSlot rotors.

I have Powerslots for the front and Hawk+ all around. Stops on a dime as far I'm concerned, but I'm running steel braided lines at all four corners also.

the reason that i was not willing to accept the delay from power slot was there lack of willing to inform me of what was going on.. the first rotors that they tried to send me were the wrong ones (for a second gen, rather than for my gsl-se).

this mistake took a month... and i was willing to accept that if they fixed the problem then.. but it took them another month and a half to admit that they were having trouble finding blanks.. if they were to have told me initially, then i would have looked for blanks for them, or gone to another source.. but the fact that they were unwilling to informe me of this delay made me lose all respect for them as a company..

so after three months of waiting , i finially got my rotors (and my hawk hp+'s) with no appology from the company..

so needless to say, i will never by rotors from powerslot again.

bad service is bad service

I don't blame you a bit...if they treated me that way, I wouldn't do business with them again either.

It sounds like you purchased them directly from PowerSlot. I didn't, but then again, mine is a much more readily available.

Out of curiousity, were they Brembo blanks? If so, what was the Brembo ID number? I've always suspected much of this matching is BS, and that they frequently have parts that will fit an application, they just never bothered to do the cross-reference.

If I could get the Brembo cross-drilled and slotted, I would do it - but I would have to know the number, since there is no reference.

Thanks,
BTC
