tire sizes on '99 spec wheels

tire sizes on '99 spec wheels

yep, you guessed it. looking for the factory tire size from a '99 FD3. since my wheels are cracked, i'm buying a set from jesse and need to know correct tire size for the 17 x 8/8.5 combo.

the stock 99 size tires are 235/45 in front, 255/40 in back. BTW, these tire sizes are pretty wide for the rim width. You might be better off going with 225/40 and 245/40.

Thats not a 100% correct. It depends on what model you get, that makes the size of the tires..

They had the 225/50 R16 all around
Also the 235/45 R17 front and 255/40 R17 rear..

Rynberg had it pretty much though..

Yeah, I find this odd, that Mazda would use such narrow width wheels for such wide tires? I would do an 8.5-inch for a 235/45-17 and minimally a 9-inch wide for a 255/40-17 tire??

I can only assume that the Potenza S-07s are narrower than typical 235/45-//255/40--17 tires?

I have 255/50/16's on stock rims and have no problem. It also has to do with the brand of the tire. Just my .02
