Angry YAY! My newly replaced turbos are leaking!

I spent most of the day saturday replacing my VERY leaky stock turbos with turbos that were allegedly "good". Well, I noticed that I still had a small oil leak somewhere so when I was getting my cat welded on yesterday I got underneath to try and find the leak. Sure enough, it's leaking from the secondary turbo inlet...damn. Looks like I need to spend some money.

They actually came with the car. I bought the car knowing that the stock turbos were trashed, but with the understanding that the included turbos were good. They are MUCH better than the stock ones, but they still leak a little bit.

Maybe you should send them off to BNR or TEC or someone???
Also did you replace the gasket?

You might take a real close look at the oil feed lines. Leaking oil on the intake side doesn't mean that the oil will get on the outside of the turbo unless the y-pipe gasket is bad.

I reused the metal gasket from the compressor inlet to the intake elbow.

Yeah my Talon use to smoke when I stopped at traffic lights.
Nothing like having oil all over the engine and having a car that looks like its on fire.

I would say look real close at the oil lines as they allways tend to leak. Also look at the OMP. they tend to leak from where the lines hook up.

OMP? I'll look again. I went to the carwash the other day and blasted everything from under there. Thus far, oil looks to be dripping right from the turbo inlet. Also, it seems as though my plugs have fouled again, which is further indication of oil in the intake. Looks like I need to spend another $30 on plugs.

Glass Man, I know what you mean abou the smoke, before I swapped turbos people would always stare at the car at stoplights because it's pretty. They would then point and look concerned about the smoke pouring out from under the hood....LOL.

Yeah go to Pepboys or Autozone and pick up the regular (copper) plugs.
Work just as good (if not better) and are cheaper.
