Street Port Questions for an `84
Hey Guys!
I figure I'll probably street port my '84 soon, but I need a good local porter... problem is finding one. Does anyone know a place close enough to Ottawa to get it done? (like 5 hours away is fine for me.. Toronto is alright.. I just need to find a place to get it done that's NOT in the states or across the praries!)
And from what I've been reading, it's around 425 US not counting "price of housings or lapping."... lapping adds another 200 dollars US, but can't I just have them use my housings? or do I have to buy new ones? and if so, how much do THOSE run me?
Thanx for your time guys. This machine's gonna be a silver bullet when I'm done with her.
my guess is about 3000$ canadian later :P

Whether you can use your housings or not depends on how worn or damaged they are. If there's scoring, chrome flaking off the face of the housing or major corrosion in the water jackets then you shouldn't use them. Very minor flaking on the edge of the housing you can usually get away with.
