Welded LSD?

Hey so i have a 86 glx with the clutch type lsd and i was wondering if its weldable? I perfer welded diff to anything. And if its not possible how hard is it to swap in an open diff and how hard are they to find? Also how strong are these differentials?

A clutch type should "feel" like a welded differential. Your best bet is to find an open diff and weld it, It's much easier to get to the spider gears, throw some weld on them, and go, unlike LSD's, which have a higher probability of breaking. Just my opinion... a 2-way limited slip is really the way to go though, however slightly pricy.
