Sa22c won't rev without choke at op temp.
Hey guys picked up a 79 a few months back as a non running car. Hadn't ran in awhile from what I gathered. I had went threw the brakes and clutch hydraulics New plugs wires. Rebuilt the carb because previous owner took it off so since it was off me and a buddy rebuilt it. Put it on, along with fresh gas and new pump and filter. It starts right up with no issue. Let it idle for about 15 minutes then it was time for a test drive however when I went to hit the throttle to take off it stumbled and died. Started it back up and went to rev in neutral and it died. So first thought was vacuums leak. Started it and sprayed starting fluid everywhere. Can't find vacuum leak. Thought maybe weak spark. So we upgraded to electronic ignition. Started back up and still no luck. We decided to let the weather warm up and tryed again this past weekend. Put a new exhaust on it thinking maybe the exhaust was clogged and still nothing. Also tryed swapping a carb from a good running car and no luck. We are kinda at a stand still. But if the choke is pulled it will rev smooth and if you get over 1500 Rpms it revs smooth. Also it does have good compression and the car only has 80xxx original miles. Just need a fresh set of eyes or brain. Thanks in advance and any input is good input!
