Need advice before purchasing RHD 97 FD
Found a supposed Efini for sale. It has the JDM badges, not the M, but it's a true RHD 97. 2 questions:
1) am I going to have a hard time getting parts for a 97? Can I order stuff like O2 sensors and etc for a USDM 95 and be ok?
2) how can I tell if it's a true Efini? Not really a deal breaker for me. Just figured if he's going to advertise it like that, I'm assuming he's basing price off that and I'd like to know what I'm getting.
Thanks.

1 -
Most parts are the same. There are some differences such as the 97 will have a black box with fewer lines going to it then the 92-95 rats nest.
Also the car should come with a "efini y-pipe" instead of the standard plastic one.
If you can't find parts for your car you should be able to get parts from
rhdjapan.com
2 - check the vehicle ID Number on the firewall in the engine bay on the drivers side (RHD)
I've got a 96 efini and the vehicle ID Number is FD3S-403425 so your number should be higher then that.
It should also be stamped in the center of the firewall.
If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

OK....I'll bite Goodfella.....
RHD cars aren't legal, no matter what State the title is from. The VIN will not conform to NHTSA standards and is therefor Federal contraband. It can be seized as such at any time, WITHOUT compensation. You might get away with it until the car is 25 yrs old. Or you might not. Occasionally there seems to be an enforcement push by I.C.E. Take your chances for that JDM goodness and to have the steering wheel on odd side...or move to Canada.

Thanks for all the imput. Seems like I've been waiting patiently all these years to find the right FD, the last thing I want to do is risk it getting reposessed. RHD doesn't do anything for me other than **** off the cops when they pull you over and your on the other side with a **** eating grin. Just liked the idea of an Efini. Guess I'll keep searching for a 94 or 95 and just do a 99 spec upgrade so it looks clean. Again, thanks for the imput.
