1993 Touring BOSE compatibility

First off i've been searching the forums for over 6 hours before some yells SEARCH IT.

Also stereo system are not my personal strong suit.

I have a 93 Touring with the Bose System. I bought the car without the radio working and no soundwave system. I bought yesterday the Snake and a 94 radio and cd player. Plugged everything in and the soundwave was the only thing working BARELY when turned up to full volume. After about 5-10 mins the passenger speaker started working also pretty low for being at max. The tweeter in the dash is shot. Haven't taken out the driver's door panel to test the speaker yet.

I'm looking to keep the car as stock as possible. I really want to keep the soundwave system as well. Ive gone through all the wiring diagrams, checked fuses and relays to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. What can be the cause? Or what Mazda radios are compatible and plug and play?

I'm an old guy. That means I know next to nothing about audio. Fortunately (?) my car came with a more traditional stereo, so I never had to deal with Mr. BOSE. And I know you said you searched, but the Interior/Exterior/Audio section is easy to miss, so I'll throw these two threads out just in case they can help....

My car also had a dead stereo when I bought my FD. I'm the minority around here and kinda LIKE the way the snake looks and wanted to keep it.
I 86'd the stock Bose amp for an Alpine, put a 6.5" JL sub in the snake, bought an Alpine headunit and haven't had one problem in over 5 years.
Now I even have Sirius/XM.

You will probably also have to change to door speakers. They are also BOSE, made of paper and have their own amps. Get rid of 'em, I'll bet they're tattered anyway. The paper cones in mine looked like a firecracker on the 5th of July.

The 1st link from Sgtblue is a keeper.
