Most hp here in Sweden from a 13B PP is with a Ron's mechanical fuel injection and methanol, 386 hp@9600 rpm Torque is 330 Nm@8000 rpm. The engine was first dynoed with a Weber 55 dco with long loop style runners. Power 305 hp. The engine med real good power bur was undrivable on the rallycross track He now runs a Gene Berg 54 mm carb with gasoline at 328 hp@9200 rpm. The engine is a little bit peaky but not as much as the Ron's set up

my 13bpp made 200kw@9000rpm at wheels im running rx8 rotors slotted for 3mm carbons 20b stat gears s6 eshaft rotating assembly was balanced running a 48ida. when im home next im going to put a 51ida remake the intake manifold and try for 220kw if that doesnt work go injection with a 55mm efi hardware throttle body.
heres a wee vid

13BPP REPU dyno - YouTube
very nice pull, I thought the auzzys and kiwis rated hp in kw?
its hard to to get an accurate conversion to sae, the torque #'s are way off

good info here!

With our 13B PP on the dyno with a 51 IDA we only got around 230 Nm and 270 hp at the flywheel.

quite low when I read the numbers here.

I read here intake ports around 44mm should be enough for 300hp. our MFR housings really had huge ports in them. around 52mm ID. on the other hand the exh ports open really late. around 5mm later than a stock RX4 housing and and a lot later than an S5 or S6 housing. closing on the exh ports is also very late so there is a huge amount of overlap.

I would think that with this big ports the engine would make a very peaky powerband but actually it does just the opposite. as from 5k rpm the torque comes in and at 6000 rpm it already made 230Nm.

we use a short header with around 14" length. 48mm ID tubing, collector ID 54mm then we expand to 4" and rest of the exhaust is 3" with racingbeat straight through muffler.

here a video of the car in action.

are all of these PP engine numbers for engine with sideports blocked off??

does anyone have N/a numbers for Semi PP like define's. or bigger PP.

i have made 44mm Ida housings( full size) i plan to run semi PP with side ports... no body else seems to be doing it..

Semi pp "meaning smaller pp" has a 1"pp. If your trying to run a full size pp with primary and secondary ports, your power band is gonna be in the stratospher. You plan on balancing the engine for up to 15k? Hope you've built an intake that will flow for what your doing.

in fact i was going to use a "good to about 9500 rpm" rx8 assembly. you really think it will be that high with 44mm and STOCK side ports? i mean yeah i predict 60mm plus a good street port should get 500hp at 15k rpm... if and when and how....

my concept it that it will have the low end of the streetport until the p-ports open, and i can open them as late at 6k rpm if thats what it takes to keep the low end, although i'm better optimal transition is going to be around 4100.

semi P port DOES NOT mean he has to BE SMALL.

rather having it sometimes closed, is like having a vtec cam that is sometimes off. on when you need it, off when you don't because of the radical overlap destroys low end.

Think about what Logan did at Defined Autoworks. 20b 's have the primary and secondary porting size as 13b Cosmo engine. With those ports and only 1" PP, he made around 476rwhp at around 11k on his 20b. That's 158rwhp per rotor. On a Cosmo block 13b with the same style intake and 1" pp, that engine, "should" make 317rwhp. With running larger PP's I believe that power band is gonna move even further to the right and to the point you may never get to experience the potential unless you do some extremely expensive things with the rotating assembly. I'm not saying don't do it as we need more people pushing the NA envelope with different concepts and designs.
