How to increase power at high rpms?

I'm not sure if im driving the car wrong, but when im about at 7k rpm, it feels like the car isnt going anywhere. It feels like the car isnt going as fast as it should. I was wondering, is this common and is there was to help increase power?

I have a s5 na. Thanks

Ya hav' ta push harder on the gas pedal......

Seriously, it could be a ton of things well beyond answering based on the information in your question or it could just be that your car is going as fast as it can.

What all is modified on the car?
Header, standalone, flywheel, electric fan, under drive pulley, stock or upgraded ignition, ignition timing, compression, cats or no cats?

All these questions answered will help you get closer to the reason. Also, was that in 3rd or 5th gear?

As I said we need more info.

step 1 is to make sure all the valves in the intake work, the VDI usually doesn't. step 2 is to look in the exhaust...

The only mods is a straight pipe from the header. Everything else should be stock.

and it is usually 2nd and 3rd, i never really need to go past those gears. (But while cruising 5th gear does seem weak.)

Your car has 140rwhp, that's the problem. Cmon man, it's a stock NA, with a free flowing exhaust gained you MAYBE 3hp. You really won't feel like you're flying in that thing without extensive mods.
