Initial start trouble

I'm finishing up the build of a 1987 rx7 turbo II with a MS3/MS3X ECU from DIYAutotune and I'm having some difficulties trying to get the car to start. The car shows no RPM signal during cranking, and I'm getting no spark. But if I hand spin the CAS I get RPM signal and spark.

It does not appear as though the ECU will read any RPM value below ~1300RPM

Any guidance on where to go from here is appreciated.

Have you adjusted your pots correctly? All pots need to be fully counterclockwise.

The shielded CAS cable should be grounded at the ECU end only.

Check the gap in the CAS sensor. If the wheels are much father than a business card width from the sensor, tighten up the gap.

The ECU has power during cranking, right?

Thank you for the reply. The pots were not adjusted correctly. After zeroing them out, I was able to get it running and idling warm at around 1200rpm. Thank you for the help.

I've run across a new issue. The car seems to be running well in most areas, but will will stumble badly whenever the secondaries try to engage. It feels as though hitting a rev limiter, and always seems to come into play when the secondary staging starts. Using test mode to engage the secondary injectors gives the expected clicks. Is there something simple I may have overlooked again, or any suggestions of what to look at?

Thank you,
-Tyler

How do you have them staged? I am using Table and used Aaron's table to start. I have 550cc/1680cc injectors. Aarons table is for 550/550 and I would get very rich spots when they'd come online. I ended up pushing the secondary split further to the top right of the table and got better results.

Thank you for the reply, I had been using Aaron's table as well and had modified it a bit with no real change. But after your comment I changed it much more dramatically, recalled the table and dropped the percents down. It runs through the areas it'd stop before much better, but the secondaries are not contributing. Looks like this table will take sone extensive tuning. I'm running 715cc primaries and 2000cc secondaries.

Thank you for the help, tuning on a megasquirt and rotary tuning are new to me.
