I bought a 1987 TII motor and trans (about 86,000 miles on them) for $600 total from Jerad. He says the most likely reason the coolant and oil mixed is a bad freeze plug, which seems about right. I tore the block down and don't see any indication to the contrary. All hard seals look decent, housings in good shape, so this should be a 'cheap' rebuild. He also included the turbo, intake, throttle body, relatively new clutch, TMIC, injectors, and other bits.
