R-magic HID headlight kit install
Going to go over the install of the R-magic HID kit. This is a very easy kit install, should only take about an hour or so. You dont need to cut any parts of the car like you do with the RE Amamiya kit.
You should only need some basic tools to install this. If you really want to go all out on it though you will need a soldering gun, heat shrink and some connectors for the wireing. You will have to cut the stock connectors off the wireing harness unless you use the connectors off the stock light assembly.. its up to you.
Full kit.
Kit comes with PIAA lights. 2 x 55w high beams and 2 HID low beams.
The covers come in two pieces and are very well made. They also come with plexiglass covers(not pictured).
The covers mount to the stock holes on the bucket frame.
You do have to add these custom made brackets. Unfortunatly the previous owner of my car had the RE kit and had to cut the bucket frame to get them to fit, they have been fixed since the car got painted.
The brackets also mount right up to stock holes in the bucket frame. Sorry I dont have pics of them with the new frame in. But they do line right up.
In the instruction manual, R-magic said to mount the HID power supplies to the base of the bucket frame. But I came up with the idea to mount them onto the brackets themselves. This required some drilling. As you can see in the pic, I only mounted 2 of the 3 holes down. I cant remember for sure why I did this, I think it was due to the fact that I only got 4 mounting brackets for the power supplies in the kit and there was something in the way of me doing the 3rd mount. You must use the mounting brackets due to the power wires that come out of the bottom of the power supplies. It is also important that the input and output wires do not cross.. to accomplish this I ended up mounting one power supply upsidedown.
Sorry I cant cover the wireing of the lights in more detail, I forgot to get pics of that. Like I said you are definatly going to have to splice the high and low beam wires to the kit. The kit comes with its own relays and easy to figure out, just power and ground.
with the lights mounted onto the bracket. you can move the lights around.. forward, back and up/down. This gets difficult though once the covers are mounted, so now might be a good time to adjust the lights.. just be aware that the lights still have to line up with the holes in covers.
I had some small alignment issues, most of it was because of my fiberglass hood. Its nothing that a good paint and body guy cant fix.
The lights are very bright, much better than stock.
Finished product..
Let me know if you have any questions about this kit.

Let me call R-magic and verify they are still selling them (99% sure they are). And I can get you a set. Might take a while, mine took about 2 weeks to get to me.

FDokinawa, REAL nice car. I especially like the color and the kit. It gives you're car a very aggresive stance. Something we don't see too much on this side of the pond

Nice write up, those are so tight. I love Run Racing also but as pointed out no HID. Both company's light kits look like they were made specifically for the car like OEM but the R-Magic is more modern with HID. As far as I know they are prepay special order only. Piaa still makes the rectangular light. I don't remember if I checked the high beam but I don't understand why it's 55w. It should be at least 65w or an amber fog light instead. If you have HID low beams, do you really need high beams? Flash to pass and driving in the country maybe. You would use amber fogs more often (fog, rain, snow).
Did you have any problems adjusting the low beams?
Any more pics of the blue FD?
