I think you will be alright if you don't go too far ahead as far as cutting too much/ removing panels. I would start getting that floor put back in....Start prepping the new floor to weld back in....

I put a Mazda Reman GSLSE engine in my GSLSE that even though was cruddy, it was surface stuff. It was Reman in 2002 and with my Mazda Compression Tester, it gave me 9.5, 9.5.9.7 on the front rotor...
