KEVLAR!

I've been wanting a Kevlar set myself for some time, and I have a few customers who have requested them and have been patiently waiting for the option.

In April, probably end of the month, I will do a run of 10 sets for those who want them. As of right now, 4 sets are spoken for. I need a few more people to confirm to make it happen, if I have extras I'll hold on to them I'm sure they will sell in time. Once they are gone, they will be gone.

Please let me know if you are interested. Lead time on these will be a bit longer than usual because I will need to get the cloth specifically for this project.

If I can be added to the list that would be great, let me know if I need to do anything else to get in line!

these look gorgeous! BUT what happens to all the wiring/relays and stuff that's normally there? Anyone with a photo step by step install?

I have an install guide, it's super basic but has a few tips about how to trim the carbon. As for the stuff in the way, JP3 Motorsport makes some nice mounts for the electronics that might help. You will need to move parts or trim the carbon to fit. It's not difficult, it just takes patience and test fitting to fit around your wiring, lights, filler necks, whatever your particular car has in that area. FDs are so widely modified that I really can't be more specific than that. Send you a PM.

They are made to order, don’t keep stock. Sorry if that information got lost in the thread. That is why I have a wait list for the covers.

I sent you a few messages letting you know it was time to pay, i saw you logged and and didn’t respond so I moved on to the next person on the list.

If anyone cancels for the next batch I will fit you in, if not I won’t be able to make a set for you for another 5 weeks. I usually have at least one person miss out. You have my paypal and total, please send the money as soon as you can and I will fit you in as soon as I am able to.

Just wanted to share my passenger side install. I would consider myself a very competent do it yourselfer but have very little experience with this sort of thing. It's not perfect but for my first attempt I think it turned out very good!

@Neutron Those look great! Nice job with the rubber O-Ring to protect the wiring, it's all in the details, love it.

I've got about 3 days left until I can ship this current group and start on the next one. Always moving forwards!

I still have 3 spots open for the Kevlar covers, hoping to get these made at the end of April. This will probably be the only run of Kevlar ones we will make, if you want them this is your chance. Price on these will be adjusted to cover the increased cost of the Carbon Kevlar hybrid cloth (as close to matching the Spirit R / late RZ seats as possible). Payment will be due when we start the production run, the same way I handle the carbon cover payments.

Ok, this batch has shipped, and I'm sending out invoices for the next batch. I fell a bit behind shipping this last group, my apologies, they are on their way.

Just wanted to share what we did with the overflow bottle side. We didn't want to cut the cover so we sought a way to have it fit under it. Taking the top of the neck off gives you enough clearance to mount the cover without cutting. We wrapped the tip in electrical tape and used one of the caps that come on the port of a new radiator. This car doesn't have pop ups so we didn't need to factor the motor.

The overflow bottle isnt something that needs messing with pretty much ever after a car is finished.

The over flow tube just pulls out and we just ran a section of hose from inside the tank to the nipple on the overflow. We went forward and back out through one of the openings on the headlight bucket frame area. You can drill out a new hole too if you wanted or just open up and grommet one kf the existing holes.

Juuust shipped out the latest batch!

Next batch looks like it's all RX7 club members, so that's fun. I'll be sending out PMs in about 2 weeks for all of you.

@daywick_fd3s , you have been added to the list.

I'll be getting some kevlar/carbon cloth samples soon so I can match it to the Recaro seats well enough to move forwards with that option. 7 of the 10 kevlar sets are spoken for, I still have 3 available. This will be the only run of Kevlar covers, so this is your chance to get on board.

And an unfortunate PSA: we had our first parts failure (out of ~110 sets shipped). It's unclear why it failed, but I will make sure the tabs are wide enough, and I need you guys to make sure the rounded side of the washers are contacting the carbon, and use one above and below the part. Carbon really doesn't tolerate stress-risers very well. Between us, this should be the only failure we see.

@Neutron
How did you paint your intercooler black? Does it need to be unpolished for paint to stick? How about heat transfer, doesn't it get reduced? Thanks!

@neit_jnf The intercooler is actually 100% anodized! Actually increases heat transfer but the increases is probably negligible. More cosmetic then anything. Anodizing parts like this is pretty specialized. It not easy to do without damaging the fins. They used to have a company in my area the specialized in this sort of thing but they have been out of business for awhile. Most Anodizing companies would not attempt this due to how careful you need to be.

I'd like to be added to the carbon list too if that's okay?

I'm not an avid poster so unable to DM, but my email is robbriggs59@gmail.com if by the stage you are ready for payment I am still unable to send DMs, as I assume this means I can't receive them either.

Hey, I saw the covers you are making and they are very nice, would it be possible to order a pair to the United States? Also, do you have a a Facebook or instagram? I looked through the thread but couldn’t find anything. Thank you for your time
