This has gotten out of hand lol

If anyone (the poster) is still interested in getting info on a Haltech E6K on an FC, pm me. I am currently running this setup very successfully. I had help from Claudio T (search through the Haltech threads/archived stuff to find him) who is a Haltech guru. I paid for his time, but it was well worth it.

My E6K was also used with a used harness - I had to clean up some of the connections and also put new injector plugs on (if you order decent injectors they should come with them). So far it has not had any issues.

1988 GTU Turbo
"Half-Bridgeport" (aka tear/large streetport per the machinist who did the work)
Garrett Hybrid T04E
Greddy Profec B spec 2 EBC
RC engineering 850cc primaries, 1000cc secondaries
Walbro 255lph in tank fuel pump
Emissions delete
FMIC
etc, etc.... ETC

PS

I second C. Ludwig's comment regarding learning a system - they're all difficult until you take the time to figure out how to operate them.

An opinion from the peanut gallery. I am old, have a e6x and have not used it yet but have read the manual twice (it is on my kindle) and am in a remote location where the nearest tuner would be at least 200 miles. The manual is easy to understand although complex but a lot of it is not used for a conservative tune, and after reading it I see no problem tuning myself, and it looks like it would not be that hard for a remote tuner to either advise or actually take over and modify my tune. keep in mind that once you leave the "safe tune" area the tuner needs experience and more data than you get at home. Do have a wide band. It is here, it has a harness (but will be unwrapped and checked before use) and since it is here it is considered free. It is obsolete and if it goes bad there are no repairs in sight but ecus seldom go bad without help.

its best if you tune the fuel map yourself, on the car, that being said i've come up with a map at my house based on a couple of wild guesses, and the car actually ran, so a remote map can be done.

imo the E6k/X are reliable, but pretty crude. the newer ecu's have things like sequential injection that really make a nice difference in a street car, and the Power FC and stock ECU's are probably more accurate as far as timing goes.
