Pettit Unlimited ECU Questions

I was reading older threads that stated that the Pettit Unlimited takes away the fuel cut at 14.7 psi. I read that its better to use a boost controller to keep the boost around 12psi for saftey. So at what psi does the injector duty cycle max out? What is the max boost that can be ran with the Pettit? I'm not saying i want to run at over 12psi constantly but just once in a while. Also what effect would adding a 3bar map sensor have?

Lastly, I read to pettit runs rich, will i be seeing black smoke and worry about melted plastic?

Thanks everyone.

That is correct AFAIK.

The generally accepted average threshold is 13 psi, although that can vary from car to car.

Well, if your stock injector's duty cycles are maxed out, then you don't want to push that any farther, right? (You cannot run larger injectors with a stock/remapped stock ECU) Otherwise, you will run the risk of not providing enough fuel if you push the boost higher for extended periods, and poof...

Also what effect would adding a 3bar map sensor have?
Unless you get a standalone ECU like the Power FC, nothing....

Lastly, I read to pettit runs rich, will i be seeing black smoke and worry about melted plastic?
Since I'm in the process of getting a Power FC standalone, I've been running a Pettit since then. Yes, it runs rich, but it doesn't belch black smoke or melt my bumper (I have an intake, SMIC, hi-flow cat, etc.).

Exactly, I wouldnt want to run the max boost past the injectors limits which your saying is ~13psi depending. I'm just trying to get a general idea of where safety stops and dangerous begins.

btw...will you be selling your pettit?

Yeah, but I can't say exactly when. Plus I've got the "standard" limited chip as well.
