Heads up to those wanting to change their clutch. I just purchased a set OS Giken STR's to replace my HKS Twinplates.
Pre installation - Set comes with complete flywheel, Cluctch and push/pull conversion for the FD. Build quality is top notch with installation diagrams included.
Installation - Same as HKS but i had to install provided push/pull converter eventhough the HKS was push type. Also had to mess a little with clucth pump for alignment.
First drive - Its better than the HKS as there is less noise and it grips much harder. Pedal feel is lighter than HKS and much more traffic friendly. OS claims that its 30% lighter than their conventional twinplates.
Price - 150 000 Yen/USD1250. This was much cheaper than advertised online.
yes i was going to buy them from rhd but timing was an issue. Because i visit my hq in japan almost monthly i ordered thru yahoo japan and got them to send it over to my office in tokyo. Picked it up and handcarried it home.
Testament to fd3s7007 OCD cleaning tendencies. Apparently any part he removes from his car gets a real good scrubbing and shining treatment with spit and elbow grease before getting back in the car =P
Actually, that's a very good price. Especially if it includes the conversion kit. Myself, i'd prefer not to do the conversion. I think JT-Imports has tried them all, how is it compared to Exedy twin plate, Jason?

I agree that the price isn't bad for what you get. I know that Ramy at www.FDNewbieImports.com can get any clutch from Japan that you want or need for your FD, I was recently discussing this with him

I **** canned my EXEDY Mazdaspeed clutch after about 2000 miles, garbage is the name. EXEDY has been rebadged so many times its unreal. They did star coming out with the carbon clutch which I heard was good, never drove on that, but the twins before didnt change the push/pull and wore out very quickly and were expensive to overhaul.
I never sold them since anyone that I came accross that actually had them, they were trading them in and **** canning them as well.
