Manual to Auto Differential Conversion
I tried searching under various terms, and couldn't find it.
Anyhow, I want to convert from a the manual 4.10 to the auto 3.9.
Is it at direct swap?
If it isn't, would it be easier to convert, or swap the ring&pinion?
Is there an aftermarket source for gears?
Thanks!

well i try to keep it under the hat, since there are some haters, but i did an LS1 swap. with the added torque 1st gear is worthless, and 2nd gear almost as bad(spins the entire time, this is with 275s in the rear). I think I could actually get better ETs, and improved MPG with the 3.9.
Hell I might be wrong. I might be better off just getting some stickier and wider tires.

yes I have, and i am seriously considering the Cobra IRS for the future. I was just thinking of doing this in the interim. I am not big into drag racing, that is why I am not going straight to the Cobra diff.

Ah gotcha. Have you read up on the auto-to-manual conversions? I would imagine there would be relevant commentary there (even if it is going the other way). Link in the FAQ thread.
