Im in need of BOV 101 challenged FD owner needs help

I never really got a chance to study my bov at idle should there be air coming out of it? I have the TYPE RS GREDDY never had a problem before used to make a really nice fluttering swooshing sound then it stopped one day and now i can hear it whistle even at idle almost sound like a turble hiss (excuse my lame explanations) its just the only way i can explain it. so what i did was turned up the bolt clockwise to the harder setting but i had to go pretty far in to get that nicer sound back but its still whistling and i hear it when i turn the car off too. anyone can help pleaze??

well at idle the motor is pulling vacuum and if your BOV closes under boost, then the opposite would be open with vacuum. so yes it should be open at idle.

Thank you catch 22 my knowledge is on a whole different level now thank god. I was just learning since then I have rebuilt 2 FCs finally fixed my leakin exhaust it was the gasket connecting the t04 to the manifold. Failed the first time then I grinded them perfectly flat praying I won't have trouble the FIRST gasket was a direct replacement rectangle with 2 square holes this failed due to warping after smoothing the surface I installed a rectangular gasket same size with one big port it has been great I just hope I do not cause more problems
