after i ran my car really hard today .. i realized it had no oil in it (dip stick says empty) .. and when im in a dead stop and go from 1000 to 3000 rpms in first i can hear some grinding noise .. im thinking its due to the lack of engine oil .. so later i fill it with 20w50 (4 quarts) .. noise went away .. i think its 3.5 quarts for the rx7? (not positive on this one) .. anyways i run it hard again .. to see if i can feel a difference between 10w30 ad 20w50 .. and i notice my car is smoking from under the hood .. i just fixed this problem too .. before it was due to the rubber coupler that goes between the crossover tube and the ypipe .. sorry for the essay .. i guess my question is .. is it because i put too much oil into it and somehow its just burning all the excess oil? also im a retard i didnt drain the oil before i put in the 4 quarts .. cause the dip stick said it was on E .. also i have a stock exahust .. and i noticed it (the exhaust) was smoking as well .. its kinda chilly out so that might be the reaso for the exhaust smoke .. but it pretty much smells like burning oil

ah #@$!#$ .. ok this cant be good .. i let it sit in the parking lot for 10 mins .. and now its dripping oil all over the floor ..

yes the smoke thats coming off of the exhaust smells like oil .. the oil itself is dripping from near the under carrage .. near the oil pan that black bar .. i cant get a good look at where exactly its coming from .. maybe more towards the turbo area .. and the smoke from under the hood was coming from under around the air pump area ..

hmm what could be causing the oil dripping? the oil looks fresh .. is it just topping off cause i dumped too much oil?

I would drain all the oil out and put in the proper amount.
