Rough idle and backfiring

So to start this off it may be a long post. I have a 93, down pipe with cat welded in the bottom of it, muffler. Air separation tank aluminum radiator. Pretty much stock. So on my way home the other day at around 6k rpm it hesitates for a second then continues on I shift and still fine. Get to the stop light and it is idleing rough. Next day I pull the plugs and I get 3 distinct compressions on each rotor. The plugs in the front rotor were very black and they only have about 10k miles on them. Change them out and the wires still the same. Also a lot of smoke was coming out of the front rotor as I was checking the apex seals. Did the bubble test for coolant seals and checked the tps. Seals passed the bubble test and tps was .24 v high on the upper wire.

So it idles rough, cleans up about 1500 rpm but sounds different, and back fires any time you let go of the throttle. Anybody have any more ideas on what it could be before I just start throwing money at it.

I was also going to buy a compression tester and coolant pressure tester at the end of the week just to be 100% it's not seals.

Is there significant power loss? If so, compression test. Sounds like a seal. I would also check your MAP Sensor and connection to be on the safe side.
