13B NA Worth

I have a mostly stock 13B NA, 5 speed trans and a LSD diff out of my '86 that I'm going to be pulling out this winter to upgrade to something with a turbo. I tried searching the forums and CL ads for what these might sell for without much luck unfortunately so I was hoping to get a little advice. I've had a small handful of people asking me if I was selling it and how much I'd let it go for already. It's a rotary with a little over 100k miles so I'm not trying to get rich on this but I don't want to sell myself short either.

All parts have just over a 100k miles and up until this summer the car was in storage for about 7+ years. It starts every time without hesitation, no stalling, no smoking and no excessive oil consumption. Only mods from previous owner are racing beat headers, pre-silencer and a K&N intake/filter which I ended up giving to my friend and ran the stock intake all summer. Tranny shifts smooth and no whining from the rear diff. Rear diff is does have LSD.

I'm thinking of selling the motor as an entire long block/harness/ecu as well as the trans/rear diff/axles as a package. What would you say my parts are worth?

It's hard to say because frankly, most people want turbo stuff so your market is rather small.
That said, I'm a bit of an outlier and have remained NA by recently installing a CL sourced complete engine/ECU/harness and transmission.
I paid $370 for it all but have no idea how that compares to other similar sales.

Denver doesn't have a very active FC market, your location may be more competitive.
The folks I bought my stuff from were as grateful to get rid of it as I was to buy, so we were all happy.

You will get a lot more if you can prove to your buyer it runs and has good compression.

Meaning, post it local as a running setup and offer to prove condition and compression. If the compression is good an you can do a compression test in person (with a rotary tester) you 'Should' get more.

For something already out of the chassis in unknown/unprovable condition/compression it's much harder...unless of course you are dealing with a total sucker.

Thanks for the reply's guys. Luckily it is still in the car and will be able to show any potential buyers that it runs and shifts well. I may be able to get my hands on a rotary compression tester. I'll have to talk to my buddy that works at a local shop that used to race rotary's.
