Wolf3D Software project
Hi all;
As some of you I've been working on reverse engineering the Wolf3D software. I've made a huge progress on getting the software project back to a compilable format. In other words, there is a project to revamp the Wolf3D management software. We all know it needs help. I'm 100% done with trying to revive the Wolf3D box as Wolf-AUS is not willing to support or help in anyway. For example, if we had the firmware, I'd reverse it then work out the bullshit bugs in it and add/improve features. Wolf refused to support (giving up the firmware code) because the box is "old news" but its still a great platform (hardware wise). anyhow, i'd like to hand over the project to someone else who can write the software (.NET C#) and carry the idea into the future. Also thought that we could perhaps maybe make this an OpenSource project where EVERYONE can see the changes, updates, request features,etc. I'm looking for a direction here, please provide your input! I think Rob (nyt) & Michael would be good people to add input for improvement/direction too; |

Maybe they'll hand over the firmware code or at least support the OpenSource idea of letting the community update the software & firmware; I've been working with v4.72 firmware - doesn't seem to be any recent releases of it; |
Well maby an open source project is the way to go. It would atleast allow usuers to fix the software end of the unit, an dmaby make some spinoff 3rd party programs that would be usefull aswell
