We need a write up
 

It would be very nice if we had a write up for rx7s like there is for the haltechs. Hitman has a very nice write up for haltechs http://www.hitman.hm/installation.htm

If we had something like that for wolf3d then I bet a lot of us would be happy.

I agree, ive been digging around looking for wolf pinouts for my FC and my 13b-re's tps and omp


K2RD has a pinout for the e11 and the 13b-re's omp, im trying to convert it over (i stress trying)

It seems vauge on some subjects such as the CAS, do i need to modify it or not? Ive read that the wiring in the manual is wrong and that RLC has a different method? what is it

Also for the igniton? Pin what goes to what wire color/color?

What about my Cosmo TPS? i have a e11 pinout that gives some refrence, hower the way the tps is wired to the e11 and the wolf is different, along with the fact i dont know what pin on my tps is +5v, ground, narrow band etc

Then even more fun is my cosmo omp, i again all i have is an e11 pinout for the omp, i havent started workign on this pinout yet so i dont know if it will work or not

The installation guide is not specific to an rx7. It is very general. If you look at hitmans write up, it actually tells you exactly what wire goes to what color wire on the things like the coil. In the wolf guide it says one wire to +5 volt, another ground and another is something else. How exactly do I know which wire is what on the stock TPS without a FSM?

I agree, from reading the V4 installation manual, its not nearly as good as even the V3, and not even close to the Haltech which is excellent...

How about the s5 tps since there are 2 of them on the single braket... do you just use one and if so which one?

Ok, here is what I have, can't guarantee that its the same on your car:

Brown: +5V
Green/Red : SiG
Black/Red : GND

Which wires go where on the stock coils. There are 2 wires per coil i think.

Also, I was looking at the fuel injection diagrams and it just says +12V to all of them, but where should I get this 12volt from? Ignition switch or what? Where can I find the igitition switched wire for all the other stuff needed to be wired up?

Ok, I have to say that I don't have the V4, I only have the V3. I did notice that the V4 manual is a little hard to figure out.

Here is the way I have it:

IGN1 - RED Trailing Coil 1
IGN2 - YELLOW Leading Coil (1 & 2)
IGN3 - GREY Trailing Coil 2

Wolf Color ---------------- Mazda Color

RED-------------- RED Trailing Coil
GREY ----------- WHITE Trailing Coil
YELLOW ---------- RED Leading Coil

Mazda Yellow also goes to my cars TACH, since the Wolf has a simulated TACH out for its RPM display.

I would compare this to the Wolf V3 to V4 Compatibility chart in your manual to make sure all the Wolf colors still represent the same thing.

If you are talking about the fuel injectors. These need to be run of an IGNITION SWITCHED Relay. So the relay should get +12V from the battery and 12V+ from switched ignition (on my car that is a black w. yellow striped wire)

I have it as follows:

Pin 30: +12V Battery
Pin 87: +12V to Injectors
Pin 85: Ground
Pin 86: +12V Switched Ignition

This is the same way my Wolf Main Relay is hooked up. Fuel Pump Relay doesn't use switched igniton. Pin 30 and 86 get +12V Battery, and 85 goes to Wolf FP wire, 87 goes to FP.

So you have a totally seperate relay just for the fuel injectors? Thats what I've been hearing is its the black/yellow wire for 12V ignition, but where do I find it? I dont have the stock harness or ecu anymore so I have to find it either inside the car or on the drivers side harness.

About the coils... Well isnt there 2 wires per coil? Do I just cut those mentioned above off the coil and instead splice in the wolf wires? Then just leave the remaining untouched?

Ahh yea just to do a count, how many total relays did you have to use?

I took my switched ignition from the passenger side harness that is near the lights. I'm sure that you could find something inside the car.

For the coils, everything that is not wired to wolf stays stock, since those are the power wires, like the Grey +12V wires.

I have 3 relays that are Wolf V3 specific: Main, Injector, Fuel Pump

I just spliced the +12V IN wire (red) to the 12volt output from the relay for the main ECU .. It simplified things and leaves me with only 2 relays to go bad (I've had a few of these go bad due to the heat in the engine compartment..You may want to think about locating these somwhere else)..

Evil: Are you running your tach via the tach output from the wolf? When installing the wolf, I never bothered to do this and my tach still functions correctly..

Hey can you be more specific with that? You spliced the +12V IN wire from what source?? to the 12volt output from the relay, got that. So what exactly are you wiring up here?
