I've been working on Wolf V4 software for a while and i'm getting to the point of enabling specific items,etc..

One thing to note is it *seems* the firmware definition files "tfoldermem.enc" are the exact same. So maybe the features in V5 *might* work in v4 also?
anyhow, if anyone is following my other threads, this is the reason why i need a V5 box (loan.buy,w/e); anyhow, I'll recompile this Project after I work a few more bugs out.

Yes but it only works if the wideband feature works :) I was talking to one of there X workers last week very interesting what we see is only a very small percentage of the work they do.. They build computers for Chinese buses as well as other equipment etc If you can sell electronics into China you must be on the ball. Like selling Ice to Eskimo's:lol: Actually just looking at whats available I doubt it will be very good you also need to take into account load and acceleration enrichment I still have hope yet...

you're 100% correct. There is an AFR table inside Wolf3D v4 (truth be told, v4 and v5 software is almost 98% the same..); I have a better idea, the Wolf EMS is not turning out to be what I wanted it to be.. its not as scalable as I'd initially thought it would be. For example, I want compensation for MAP (or any other sensor for that matter) but v4.72 firmware doesn't do it. V5 does 50% +/- fuel compensation on MAP but its firmware really.

as far as the Fuel Map tuner goes... I can build an AFR table, read o2 input,etc etc all software side but, i'm sooo overly unhappy now that i've taken apart all of Wolf's software and seen how it works.. I'm just not as happy as I once was.

What I want to do is at least be able to give you guys a firmware tool to upgrade your boxes to v4-plus firmware (mine has wideband hardware enabled) but before doing so - I emailed Wolf asking if I'd see any static from their.

Anyhow, I've attached the actual files that *drive* the Wolf3D software (v4 & v5).
Open them in notepad, take a long hard look at the data. The encrypted versions of these fiels can be found in C:\Program Files\Wolf\etc...

I have been busy writing a new software server to activate my software. I have been learning PHP as well as learning how to screw up Vista or should I say work my way around UAC . My .Net is getting better too. I also have been getting all my servers working the way I want, and then doing backups. Also doing all my desktops. I restored my web server from image in 12 minutes from a usb external drive. I think thats not too bad.

That data you extracted is stored is the configuration and tree nodes for both V4 and V5?
So the basic build data behind the fancy display is only a extension of the newer V4 Program.
Ok like I said before the only way to get autotune to work is via a external O2 working on a second rs232 or USB port. Maybe when I have finished all my money making projects, I will make a simple realtime single window program to rip data from a O2 that can pipe to the Wolf software, maybe pop it into the clipboard?? Then you can rip the data from the clipboard..
Lots of ideas and no time to write them....

No actually - the Wolf is fed the narrowband & wideband data;
Your box *may need* hardware reconfiguration but *mine* reads both narrow and wide inputs.

The Auto Tune option is done software side in my Wolf version.. it needs an AFR-Target-Table and that would be that. Keep in mind I'm working with a full-blown v4+ with all options (v4+ w/ wb02 hardware) enabled. Since I'm watching the stream (serial data) I can pick any part out of it at read-time to hand off to whatever procedure I choose (in this case, auto afr targeting).

It'll be pretty simple actually.. nevermind what the software-end says.. the Wolf3D v4+ box that I'm working with CAN autotune with some overhaul to the software itself.

I did get a "canned/default/bullshit" response from Wolf again about the v4 firmware code.. it went along the lines "upgrade to v5 to avoid the hassle of selling your v4 to get a v5".. which i wont be doing.

i'm selling the new v4+ ecu (harness,etc) to sticking with AEM(usa). The more I modify the Wolf software, the more I want it work function like AEM (firmware wise). ....I've also been modifying the AEM(usa) code to suite my needs on the 20B fd

My V4 is wideband enabled :) but the V500, well it still doesn't work as far as I know. So the AEM ecu is good?? I haven't seen a V500 running hard yet. I will chase one of my mates that does lots of tuning "Mr tune everything" he should be called. I have seen him tune a car from plugging in the ecu to full tune is less than 2 hours including the drive to the Dyno. I bet a V500 would take longer!!
Anyway back to PHP head banging.

Oh yes! the AEM box is wonderful. AEM did have issues at first with hardware (2000 / 2001 range +/-).. but it took me about 30mins to tune a DSM up to 13PSi.

AEM has a load (MAP/MAF) compensation (add/remove fuel) lookup-table.
If you follow a standard theory of "if your car needs X fuel to make 12:1 AFR at 5PSi, it should need double X to hit 12:1 AFR at 10psi, also needs double the 10PSi fuel to make 20PSi @ 12:1 AFR".. it makes for setting up a car from "scratch" take about 30mins. no cell by cell tuning.

try setting up a 1600cc 4G63 high-stress/high-revvin engine in about 30mins.. with AEM it can be done.. oh and its PNP :)



anyhow enough about AEM... but i do believe in the EMS. I wanted to turn Wolf into an AEM-style EMS, where we would have the *option* to +/- fuel based on the sensors in the car (o2, map, coolant, abs[yes, abs],etc)... Also need a better fucking fiel & ignition resolution map. try this for fun, load up the Wolf software (stock software) and try looking at the fuel map with a 5bar map sensor. you have adjustment/break points every 10psi~~!!! thats AWFUL!

on top of that, i dont rev to 15k rpms, the EMS doesn't auto adjust the actual timing map for our setup, it still keeps the 0k-15k range in the calibration. meaning, its wasted resolution/map weight (detail in terms of actual ign points to adjust).

I've addressed my issues with Wolf, they didn't seem to care what I had to say and tried to sell me a v500... screw that :)

hey hwnd when will your auto tune be running full bottle? Now I know it is hard work please don't consider me being pushy I more than anyone know how hard and long the road can be. I am still keen on a external wideband input maybe when you have it all stable I can look at adding external hook to a dll or exe and pipe AFRS into the Wolf :).

Since I've been toying with the PowerFC, I figured I'd take another look at the Wolf3D shit I disassembled and show you guys a photo of the updated piece.

I revisited the project, had a few problems that were lingering in my head.. figured I'd give 'em a shot at fixing them.
1) Removed that stupid "Help Box" for good
2) Fixed the AFR Target / Auto Tune 2D & 3D maps

..since I've sold my Wolf3D units, I probably wont update this, if any.. maybe I'll buy another one but v4+ only.

I could use any 0v-5v input on the box and adjust the software to use that input for AFR-Target adjustments... Could have but I offered my ECU to James, he declined it so I sold the remaining Wolf related to forum members & ebay.

It could work (AFR Target table / o2 feedback) but hard to design without an ecu handy.

I think that was taken out of the updated versions of the software because it was not working
