Who is the best socal pfc tuner?

Is there anyone that knows how to tune pfc's really well in socal? Ive already been to one recommended tuner and while the car runs and drives great, and puts down solid afr's and no knock there is alot of things I dont feel too good about. My FD has a streetport, gt35r and 850/1600, ect and my timing maps were completely untouched from base map, even the cells with negative split, on settings 5 the injectors percentages are still at 100% from the default 550/850 stock settings, I think the only thing that really happened was that the car got tuned just by changes to the inj map without touching anything else. Im just looking for a more complete tune if there is anyone local more familiar with the pfc.

Koji @ DriftSpeed in Los Alamitos, he's the man on PFC's super conservative and very complete on his tunes. not sure about the other guys mentioned, but i've seen koji tune many Professional drift cars and top notch/high dollar street cars.

Yoshiya is the one that originally tuned the car. I thought he was a very nice guy and he certainly spent alot of time on my tune, I just wonder if im pushing my luck with my setup on the base timing map. So far everything has been good but the more info I read and hear from other tuners makes me a little unsure. For you guys recommending Neptune, have you had single turbo cars tuned there? I would be curious to compare maps if possible to see if he did anything diffferent

Conservative and complete sounds like exactly what im looking for. Do they have their own dyno?

Battle Cat 11-26-09 03:07 AM

well I know for sure Nelson at RRR can tune really Great on single turbo set ups... my friend recently got his single turbo gt35r fd tuned there, and hasnt had a problem...

i would recommend him for sure. Also he has tuned a lot of other rotaries, 20b fcs, 13b-re swaps with single turbos etc...

just my 2 cents..

Yeah they have dyno packs that work great. Koji has tuned many formula d cars and high dollar street cars. If you had a haltech I would suggest myself, since I tune as well but for PFC go with koji. Check driftspeed.com

+1 for Koji-san. he's a great dude and knows exactly what he's doing.
my car was originally tuned from neptune speed, after I had it retuned
it ran better, safer, and roughly the same boost and made nearly 35 more whp.
i'm sure neptune is okay .. but i stand by koji for SURE.

<- PFC with 850/1000's

Anyone know Henry from MotorSport Dynamics?

Honestly I don't know what they Did to my friends car, on the invoice it just said rebuild with a street port with the stock s4 turbo, evo bov, stock fuel system, Apex-I SAFC and AVCR (I know)...3in piping all the way no cat...it kept up with a Base C5 Vette untill 155 then the vette took off but stopped running after a few months btw this car wasn't tuned on a DYNO either tuned on the street for the street I guess

but honestly you might be better just waiting for Steve Kan, the car's he tuned are fast

yup nelson is a great tuner, but not so much on PFC.... he tuned my old FD when he had his shop in South Gate b4 he went to RRR. after i felt it weak he used an AEM ecu and that what he seems to praise more over any ecu(imo). car made over 110hp just by switching ecu's(same setup) but im sure Nelson knew more about the AEM than the PFC, and he did a great job on a street tune and dyno tune.

but for local PFC tuners go with driftspeed, they did a wonderful job on my nephews FC.

mazpower 12-02-09 06:25 PM

Matt, if you need a hand with that Power FC I can help you out...

This is a great thread!!! Nice to hear that we actually have a pool of PCF rotary tuners to choose from.

I have met in person few of the people mentioned above and they all seem to have good to great experience rep.

Good luck guys:)
