Cannot go wrong with a Vette! I do plan to pick up a Vette within a couple years also. Best wishes JHam but just because you are selling your RX, doesn't mean you are released from postwhoring in the West Section!

Yes, It's so.

I've been obsessing for a week. Which equates to 16 hours a day searching every avenue the Internet may provide for a cheap vette.

And a C5 is going to be too expensive.....and by that I mean to say, I could finance one easily but that is not what this car fisxing up is about . You gotta find a chap one that you buy for cash......then there is no way you can make a financial mistake.

This is from experience. I have owned and modified all of those 3 years. You will however like the handling of the vette, it is very road responsive and a blast to drive. If you want reommendations for mods just pm me when you get one.
Alright, I did everything you said not to do. I bought an '84 4x3 60K mile Garage Queen from a lady Today.

The car is awsome. She put sheep skins on the seats in '84 so the leather under the skins (now removed) is like Showroom quality...not a scratch.

The Motor and tranny seem to work fine...we'll see

The Suspension is kinda springy. It kinda Pogos on some bumps. Scary at high speeds in corners. Somebody called it a "Gokart" suspension. I'll learn what that means soon enough

but you're still gonna have to rebuild the vette, regardless of how it looks it is gonna need a fair amount of attention being over 20 years old.

Like I didn't have to rebuild the seven? I did almost everything on that car. Only needs New suspension and Tranny to be completley rebuilt. All that little side **** had to be replaced Brakes, Drive line cooling system, Fuel sytem, Battery, Starter, FPD, Alternater, Injectors, Vacuum lines............you name it.

Yea Fuzzy, just like the 7......But I don't call all that happen to the seven "unreliable", You'll not catch me baggin' on Sevens like other people that couldn't figure a 7 out. it (not unlike the vette) is just an old car that needs systems to be replaced cause they are old. I had a blast learning all about the 7...I'll have a blast working on the Corvette as well.

And I haven't gotten pics yet, I am working on selling the seven.

I was not ready to buy anything yet. I was totally set on selling the 7 first and taking maybe up to three months of looking for a "good" car. This lady listed this on on Craigslist.....and I never look on Craigslist but for some reason I went to check it out and saw this one that was close by. I called her and went to see it the next day. She opens the garage and there was the Garage Queen in all her glory. Only 60k miles, one owner.....classy female, All reciepts for service in a nice little manilla folder. I couldn't walk away from that one.

The Car needed R134a for the compressor and it needs tires, a buff and the Bumper covers fixed....but that is all. It is perfect.

She had Sheepskins (popular in the 80s) put over the leather seats after the third month that she owned it. The pics don't show it but they are showroom fresh not a scratch. The Sheepskins kept the leather looking brand new.

Wow....that's definitely a great fine, very clean. I noticed that the speedo only goes to 85mph, which was popular for domestics in the 80's. I sure there is a way to bypass it.
